The first version
of the Top Gear television show in the United Kingdom began in
1977 and ran through till 2001. It was relaunched in 2002 and
continues to grow in popularity.
The current version on Top Gear is hosted by Jeremy Clarkson,
Richard Hammond and James May. There's also a masked test driver
called the Stig who is supposed to remain anonymous but is usually
found out by the media and is generally fired, as with the cases
of the outed Perry McCarthy and Ben Collins.
Segments on the car show include Top Gear races, challenges, star
in a reasonably priced car, power laps, the cool wall, car of
the year, car of the decade, and other various reviews and news
segments.
