Mercedes-Benz is a German car brand that was created on June 28, 1926. The company was founded by Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler. Mercedes-Benz manufacture cars, trucks, vans and buses in Germany and various countries worldwide. They’re best know for their premium luxury vehicles. Mercedes-Benz headquarters are currently in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany in Europe.
Mercedes-Benz Company Timeline – History
1885 – Karl Benz created the Benz Patent-Motorwagen which is one of the world’s first production automobiles. The development of the vehicle was funded by his wife Bertha Benz.
1926 – Benz & Cie. (1883 to 1926) and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (1890 to 1926) combined to become Mercedes-Benz on the 28th of June, 1926 and was first called Daimler-Benz.
1930 – The Mercedes-Benz 770, also called the Grand Mercedes or the Großer Mercedes was produced. It’s a large luxury car that was popular with the elite of Germany. Government officials were often seen being driven around in the 770.
1936 – The Mercedes-Benz 260 D was one of the first diesel powered production automobiles in the world.
